Dishwasher Repair vs. Replacement: Which Should You Do?

Dishwasher Repair

Knowing when to repair a broken appliance has always been difficult. It’s always a struggle to decide whether you should try to repair your appliance and make it work just a bit longer or if it has totaled itself and requires an entirely new appliance. Consumer Reports conducted a survey in 2010 that found dishwashers are less likely to break and need repair than other appliances, but when they do break, it usually means the product is finished. However, there is still a chance a dishwasher repair is possible without buying a new washer.

If a dishwasher is less than 9 years old, it most likely is not on its last leg. Nine years is about the average lifespan of a dishwasher, and if it breaks several years before this, then getting a quote for a repair is helpful. You may also want to consider how much you like your current dishwasher because if you love it, then it may be worth a dishwasher repair.

If you do end up needing a dishwasher repair, make sure to call an expert on the matter. They will be able to give you a quote on the cost of a dishwasher repair and help you decide whether a dishwasher repair is possible or if it would be more cost-effective to replace it.
